NATE DRAKE – Director showreel & portfolio

A short showreel of recent narrative films I have directed as well as clips of films on which I was a Shooting Producer.

These films include special effects supported by my skills with VFX software and background in physical effects.

My goal is to share stories with the world through big, beautiful feature films, so I wrote down my ideas, picked up a camera and started shooting them. I am always learning: making a living directing films inc. Promos & VT segments.

ROLE: DIRECTOR, WRITER

Logline: A light-sensitive young man is pushed too far when a hot day warms his beer, leaving him no choice but to declare war on the sun.

A short comedy of epic proportions. I scripted and storyboarded this film, knowing what was possible with visual effects but had no idea how to achieve the hundreds of VFX shots until I sat down and learned to use After Effects.

Making this film was an amazing experience.

MAN vs SUN – “Either way it’s the end of life as he knows it.”

Sourcing contributors, organising locations, directing shoots and editing

Working closely with the Producer and Showrunner to direct this live online video event: a pilot for NHS Choices new live channel – askNHS.

Responsible for live editing on air, technical set up, troubleshooting and broadcast.

Logline: A soulful photographer investigates a mysterious murder scene through the lens of his camera, revealing echoes of the crime.

A short narrative sci-fi/noir film about a young man confronting death. Captured by the atmospheric cinematography of music video director Kaya.

Assisting the director, KAYA to produce this music video on a outdoor shoot in London. Music produced by popular artist Marger and featuring Molly.

Commissioned by SnoZone! MK to produce this promo, designed to introduce potential customers to Snozone’s facilities as a fun, healthy alternative to the gym and present the formal lessons as a friendly, accessible service.
